Business users can book for themselves, for someone else, and for an employee.
 

Book for yourself

  • Click on “Book ride” and select “Book for myself”. If you have booker or admin rights, you won’t have the “Book for myself” option. Instead choose “Book for employee” and select your name from the drop-down list.
  • Choose between a one-way transfer or a booking by the hour.
  • Enter your pickup and dropoff addresses.
    Note:
    You can also search for keywords such as “JFK” or “Grand Hyatt New York” and select the location from the drop-down list.
    For airport pickups, please enter the airport without specifying the terminal. We track flights to ensure your chauffeur waits at the right terminal, even with unexpected changes in the flight schedule. 
  • Enter your flight number for an airport pickup or dropoff (e.g. SQ327 for Singapore Airlines flight 327). This allows us to track changes in your flight status, and adjust the pickup time accordingly.
  • Enter the date and pickup time. They will always be the local time of the city you are booking your ride in.
  • Select your desired service class.
  • Choose the payment method you want to use for this ride. Depending on whether you book under your business or personal sections, you will only see the payment methods stored for the respective section.
  • You can enter your rewards program details to earn rewards for this ride. If you have saved a rewards program in your profile, it will automatically be preselected. 
  • Enter text for the pickup sign, for example, your name or your company name.
  • Enter any notes for the chauffeur in the special request field (e.g. if you require a child/baby/booster seat or are traveling with an assistive device).
  • For your own internal accounting, you can enter a reference code or cost center in the corresponding field which will then be shown on your invoice (single and/or monthly).
  • Click “Next” to see an overview of your booking details.
  • Click “Book now” to place your booking. You will receive your booking confirmation email shortly.

 

Book for someone else

  • Click on “Book ride” and select “Book for someone else”.
  • Enter the guest’s contact information.
    Note: It is important to enter the email address and phone number of the person who will be taking the ride so they recieve ride status updates and the chauffeur’s contact information. If you do not know the email address, please enter your own, however the guest’s mobile phone number is mandatory. In case of any onsite irregularities, Blacklane will try to contact the guest with this number.  
  • Choose between a one-way transfer or a booking by the hour.
  • Enter the pickup and dropoff addresses.
    Note:

  • For your own internal accounting, you can enter a reference code or cost center in the corresponding field which will then be shown on your invoice (single and/or monthly).
  • Click “Next” to see an overview of the booking details.
  • Click “Book now” to place the booking. A booking confirmation email will be sent to the email provided.

 

Book for another registered employee

This option is only available for business account  users with booker or admin permissions. To learn more about the different roles available for business accounts please click here (link to Q&A about different roles).

This option allows bookers and admins to book on behalf of other employees. Bookers may only book for employees that have been assigned to them, while admins can book for all employees within the business account.

The advantages of booking for an employee instead of the “Book for someone else” option include:

  • When an employee is selected, their profile information (e.g. email address, phone number, rewards program number) are automatically pulled into the booking.
  • You can choose from the “business” payment methods saved for the employee. Their payment methods saved as “personal” are only visible to them.
  • Bookings are also be added to the rides overview of the employee, so they also can access and change the booking information if necessary. 

How to book for an employee:

  • Click on “Book ride” and select “Book for employee”.
  • Select the employee you want to book for from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose between a one-way transfer or a booking by the hour.
  • Enter the pickup and dropoff addresses.

  • Choose a “business” payment method (payment methods saved as “personal” are not accessible). To maintain security, it is not possible to add a payment method to an employee’s profile. To add a payment method, please ask the employee to do so themselves, or use the “Book for someone else” option.
  • If the guest is a member of a rewards program, you may enter their rewards program details for them to earn rewards for this ride. If the employee has saved a rewards program in their profile, it will automatically be preselected. The name of the guest must match the rewards membership name.
